6 Day Intensive Course

Recognising patterns in nature  – Earth works & water harvesting strategies – Designing a food forest ecosystem – Soil biology – Specialized compost & worm farm –  Fungus use and cultivation –  Annual & perennial crops – Erosion control and soil rehabilitation –  Grey water treatment – Drought proofing – Wind breaks & fire control – Tree planting and pruning – Integrated pest & disease management – Designing micro climates  – Integrated animal systems – Basics in aquaculture & aquaponics – Efficient tool handling and appropriate technologies

 Class begins at 9 am and ends at 5 pm, with a 1-hour break for lunch. Morning sessions are run in the classroom and the afternoon is spent outdoors doing practical exercises. Courses are taught in english, with a translation of terms in greek available.

ACCOMMODATION

The course is held at the same venue students will be staying in, a 4 apartment house situated on a developing agro-ecology site located 150 meters from the beach and 2 km from Skala, Kefalonia.  Students have the option of staying in shared apartments or camping.

Course Fee Price includes tuition, room/camping, and all meals for the duration of the course (7 nights).

For those camping, a waterproof tent is recommended.

*Each course is limited to 18 students, with 13 beds available in shared apartments.
